For months now I have been getting questions about this “no breathing in CPR” thing. The American Heart Association did release instructions on what they are calling hands-only CPR. You can see what it’s all about at http://handsonlycpr.org/ .
Essentially there are 2 steps when you have an unresponsive adult that has suddenly collapsed:
1) CALL 911
2) Push hard and fast in the center of the chest
I believe this hands-only technique will save lives. Hands-only CPR will empower many trained (and untrained) individuals to act when they otherwise might not have.
Please share your thoughts. Would you be more likely to help a stranger that has collapsed if breathing for the victim was not required?
